Details that tell personal stories. The objects that were part of the daily life of migrants arrived on the coast of Lampedusa. A pot, a toothbrush. And then money and documents. Sacred letters and texts. Each object speaks of the life of a human being, fleeing poverty or war. We often tend to forget that migrants are people who hope for a better life, and therefore face a long and difficult journey, risking their lives. They leave traces that indicate a passage to a distant destination, usually in Northern Europe.
