Ivona lives in Lukavica, technically a different city from Sarajevo, because it lies in the Republika Srpska, the other entity that forms Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the Federation. It is only a few kilometres away from the Old Town, there is no clear border and only the cyrillic script tells to the foreigner he is entering a different region.
Ivona lost her father, who died during the war, when she was really young and photos of him are the only testimony of his role in her life.
She volunteers for Education Builds Bosnia, an association born to give scholarships to kids that lost their parents during the war.
